They don’t necessarily sound like benefits because everyone should be able to feel safe walking down the street without worrying about whether or not you’re going to get arrested. As well as entering a shop, not depending on their colour should be able to go into a shop and buy products.

Since the aboriginals are the traditional owners of the land they should most definitely have the right to continue their native practices and customs as well as talking to other aboriginal’s. I think this is totally unfair.

What does assimilate mean?

To bring into conformity with the customs, attitudes, etc., of a group, nation, or the like; adapt or adjust.

What does segregate housing mean?

Housing segregation is the practice of denying African American or other minority groups equal access to housing through the process of misinformation, denial of realty and financing services, and racial steering.

Do you think Joseph would appreciate the chance to live like a white man?

No, as I’m sure he would have appreciated the chance to continue his cultural practices and speak to his natives instead of changing race in order to live up to someone’s expectations.

To show the truth of our history and how horribly the aboriginals were treated just because of their culture and skin colour.
